Day 28

Was was GREAT! I’m sticking to the same plan I’ve been on for the past 3/4 weeks, but now I’m playing around with the # of reps… today it was 10, 8, 6. It was AWESOME. I had so much fun pushing weights, seeing where I could go, seeing what I could do… and the variety is AWESOME too.

Going throughout, I have to admit that I don’t think I’ve lost that much strength compared to my mass gain phase… it’s really surprising. I was doing 6 reps (could’ve pushed to 8) of a shoulder press with 40lbs dumbbells. And it was pushing it, but it wasn’t unsafe. And the most I could’ve ever done was 40lbs when I was at the height of my bigness ;) So that was a surprising insight today.

Also – I think what really helped was a good rest. When Jay was here over the weekend, I didn’t sleep too good. Sharing a bed with someone you’re not ’sleeping’ with is a tough thing to do as you both kind of segment off your own side of the bed and sleep there. When you’re sleeping with someone, you sleep with them… touching, etc… isn’t an issue. But anyway – that isn’t the kind of talk for my blog!

Oh – and one other big thing that happened over the weekend – I managed to finalize my gym membership :) I’m going to be going to Extreme Fitness… it was an extremely nice gym, lots of machines, and it doesn’t feel gay at all – unlike the Goodlife around the corner from work. Also – there was a trainer there called Jason who had lost 50lbs and put on 35lbs of muscle over the past 2 years, and looks amazing. I’d like to leverage him – as he could be quite inspirational to me… we’ll see how that goes… but all the ducks are lining up nicely ;)
