Day 55

I’ll say this up front – I forgot how much I loved to push heavy weights. The mass gain cycle was so much fun! Now that I’m doing these supersets – sure they kill me – but I’m LOVING it. Again I didn’t want to get out of bed in the morning, but I was excited to go into the gym. I wanted to see how this next routine was going to work out – back, bis and calves. And it worked out beautifully! The only thing that’s restricting me right now are the weights in the gym – they’re too light.

And that’s the part of this experience that I find fascinating, and I think I commented on that earlier in the week… that I’m pushing more and more weight. I’m losing weight in myself, but I’m getting stronger and stronger. I’m almost (give or take) stronger than I was when I was mass gaining… the body’s adapted to the workout that I’m doing now, and I can push more and more. I find it fascinating.

Good news on a cardio side too – the snow’s here. So while I’m not sure Moonstone / Blue’ll be open this coming weekend, they should be open the following weekend. I’m thinking there’s a tad too much rain this week to allow for snowboarding, but we’ll see. I have my fingers crossed. But at the same time… I’m nervous. I’ll have to almost start from scratch, which won’t be quite as fun :s We’ll see though. In either case, I’m out of town this weekend and the next… have to bring lots of cupcakes / brownies to satisfy Murray, but that’ll be fine.

Oh – and on that note… I’m starting to feel like I’m back on track fitness wise, after the craziness of the weekend. I feel like I have a lot of energy, focus and that I’m lean again. So yeah – it does take a good 2-3 days to wipe out a refeed day (or weekend). Given my experience of last weekend, I’m going to take this weekend and make the best of it… I’m going to continue eating well – with the addition of one or two brownies to sweeten the deal. If I do go snowboarding, there’ll be a nutritional splurge in the evening on Sunday, but I think that’ll be well earned… and the fact that I’m typically starving after a day of snowboarding kinda justifies it. I hope.
